Bio

• After graduation from law school, Steven worked for a law firm in Kansas City and eventually entered the solo practice of law for several years. He served with the Public Defender’s Office before joining the AGO’s Public Safety Section in 2000 where he handled sexually violent predator and special prosecution cases. From there he served as General Counsel for a state agency, Director of Enforcement for the Securities Commission and joined the AGO’s Consumer Protection Section in 2016. In 2020, he became Deputy Chief and now serves as Chief Counsel since 2022.
