Internet Safety

Message from Attorney General Eric Schmitt

The Internet is a wonderful source for information and communication. As users we have immediate access to the contents of libraries around the world or we can speak with friends and family in real time. Every day a new avenue for employing modern technology is introduced to us.

Unfortunately, with each new advantage the Internet introduces there is a corresponding opportunity for someone to use it as a means of exposing children to dangers such as unwanted content and inappropriate contact from adults.

The information contained in this section of The Attorney General Office’s website can help you avoid many of the dangers associated with Internet use. These resources were created by child safety organizations dedicated to protecting internet users from internet predators and perpetrators of frauds and scams.

I encourage parents, educators, teens and children to explore the material provided in these links so you can enjoy all the benefits of technology and browse the internet safely.

Attorney General
