Jefferson City, Mo. - Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt is announcing that he has recruited 28 year FleishmanHillard veteran Marianna Deal to serve as his Communications Director. Marianna joins Chris Nuelle, Press Secretary, who has served in numerous political campaigns and organizations.
“For almost 28 years, more than half my life, I have called FleishmanHillard home. The people, clients, experiences I have had there have been incredible, life shaping and challenging. Now, I am opening a new chapter in my life, one that takes me back to the roots of my career,” said Deal. “I started my career seeking to be a part of the solution to societal issues, and it is exciting to cap my career that way. I believe in Attorney General Schmitt, who through his position as chief attorney for the state of Missouri, will be a tremendous advocate for each and every one of the six million citizens he and his office serve.”
“Marianna Deal will be an incredible asset to the Attorney General’s Office, and I look forward to working with her to better serve Missouri’s six million citizens,” said Schmitt.
Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office as Communications Director, Deal worked as an executive assistant, Senior Vice President for Central Business Development, and eventually, Senior Vice President, Senior Partner, and Managing Director for America’s Business Development for FleishmanHillard. Throughout her time at FleishmanHillard, Deal worked with and recruited team members from government agencies, political campaigns, regulatory bodies, and news media. Deal also secured and worked with major corporate clients such as AARP, Bayer Crop Science, Energizer, Enterprise, and more.
Deal also served as a Staff Assistant to U.S. Representative Bill Emerson, where she coordinated media relations and constituent services, and also served as the Press Secretary on Representative Emerson’s 1988 and 1990 reelection campaigns.
