Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced that an untested sexual assault kit shipping event took place at the Cape Girardeau Police Department on Thursday of last week. In total, 40 kits were gathered and shipped from the Cape Girardeau Police Department and neighboring departments.

The Missouri Attorney General's Office today released the annual vehicle stops report, an aggregation of data covering all vehicle stops in the state of Missouri in 2019. The Missouri Attorney General's Office is statutorily required to produce a report on the state's vehicle stops per SB 1053, enacted in 2000.

Today, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced that his office has charged Brandon Rusin, of Rocky Mount, Missouri, with consumer fraud in the Circuit Court of St. Louis County. Rusin faces one count of unlawful merchandising practices, a class E felony.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced today that his office has filed suit and obtained a temporary restraining order (TRO) against Little Bit Ranch, a dog breeder in Sullivan County, for violations of the Animal Care Facilities Act (ACFA) and for operating without a license. The lawsuit and application for temporary restraining order without notice were filed on Friday of last week, and the temporary restraining order was granted on Friday.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, along with 17 other state Attorneys General, sent a letter calling on Congress to investigate the Chinese government’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic. Led by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, the letter was sent on Friday to the leadership of the House and Senate Foreign Relations Committees, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and other House and Senate leaders asking for a Congressional investigation.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, and Montana Attorney General Tim Fox today announced they are co-sponsoring a letter, led by North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, urging the Department of Justice and Attorney General Barr to investigate antitrust concerns in the beef processing industry. Attorneys General from Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming also signed on to the letter.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced today that 100 untested sexual assault kits were shipped from Grandview Police Department and Lee's Summit Police Department. 50 kits were shipped from both police departments respectively, and measures were taken at both events to protect participants in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic.

Missouri Attorney General Eric served three St. Louis-area businesses with Cease and Desist Letters after receiving complaints that these businesses were selling face masks at inflated prices. The Attorney General’s Office investigation revealed that the prices charged by the businesses for N95 masks and “Medical Isolation Masks” were substantially higher than what the masks generally sell for in the marketplace and what the masks sold for pre-pandemic.
