Surf Safely, With Attorney General Chris Koster

A Message from Attorney General Chris Koster

Dear Educator:

As you know from your professional role, nearly every young person in Missouri has access to the Internet. Unfortunately, the benefit of that access also puts these teens and pre-teens at risk for the dangers that can lurk on the Internet.

I believe one way we can help keep children safe on the Internet is to give them the information they need to recognize and avoid dangers. That's why my office has created a public-service presentation specifically designed to help teens recognize the dangers of the Internet, identify situations to avoid, and offer advice on how to “surf safely.” Included in this presentation is important information concerning social networking on sites such as My Space and Facebook.

If you would like to consider having this presentation offered to students at your school, please contact Tom Durkin, Public Education Director for the Office of the Attorney General. This presentation can be geared to meet your time constraints and is offered at no charge. You may contact Tom directly at (573)751-8843 or via e-mail.
