Attorney General Koster sues Ralls County woman for clean-water violations

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster has filed a lawsuit in Ralls County against Mary Lou Callicott, owner of the Callicott Mobile Home Park, for violations of Missouri’s Clean Water Law.

Mary Lou Callicot owned and operated an unpermitted wastewater lagoon since April 27, 2007.  Ms. Callicot permitted the discharge of water contaminants from that wastewater lagoon into a tributary of Salt River.

"This office will aggressively pursue those who show disregard for our environmental laws," Koster said.

Koster is asking the court to issue a preliminary and permanent injunction prohibiting Ms. Callicot from further violations of the Missouri Clean Water Law and assessing a civil penalty in an amount up to $10,000 per day for each of the violations of the Missouri Clean Water Law.
