Attorney General Koster announces guilty verdict of Waynesville man

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster said today that a jury has found Ryan Evans, 29, formerly of LaCenter, Washington, guilty in the beating death of his girlfriend’s 18-month-old son. Evans will serve life in prison for abuse of a child resulting in death and an additional 30 years for 2nd degree murder.

Koster said Evans was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville at the time of the crime. The trial took place in Phelps County on a change of venue from Pulaski County.

The Attorney General’s Office had been named Special Prosecutor in the case.
