Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster today filed a lawsuit against five companies for violating the Missouri no call law.
Koster filed suit against Castle Rock Capital Management, Castle Rock Management SA, Capital Solutions Group SA, Transfers Argentina SA of Argentina, and Marketing Strategy Group of Hungary, five corporations owned by Randy Cox, Jr., a California resident. Cox is also a defendant.
Koster said the companies made solicitation calls to consumers claiming the companies could lower consumers’ credit card interest rate or attempting to sell such items as home security systems.
“Millions of Missourians have said they do not want to receive unsolicited sales calls,” Koster said. “My office will continue to protect consumers from these unwanted calls and pursue telemarketers who ignore Missouri’s no-call law.”
Koster is asking the court to stop these businesses from calling Missourians on the no-call list. He is also seeking civil penalties and to recoup the costs of the investigation and prosecution.
Koster reminds Missourians they can sign up for the no-call list on his website at ago.mo.gov or by calling 866-662-2551. He encourages consumers who receive harassing solicitation calls to file a complaint at 866-buzzoff (866-289-9633).
Consumers can now also register their personal cell phones on the Attorney General’s no-call list.
