Attorney General Koster reminds Missourians that December 6 is the deadline to file claims in billion dollar LCD-screen price-fixing settlement

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster is reminding Missouri consumers and businesses that the deadline is December 6 for filing claims for a cash refund from a billion dollar settlement fund. The fund is made up of settlements with 10 manufacturers over an illegal conspiracy to raise the price of LCD flat panels. LCD screens are used in televisions, computer monitors, and laptop computers.

“Consumers and businesses can get a considerable amount of money as a result of this settlement,” Koster said. “We encourage Missourians to file their claims online before the December 6 deadline.”

Eligible consumers could collect $25, $100, $200 or more depending upon the number of televisions, monitors, and laptop computers purchased. Businesses with large purchases could recoup thousands of dollars. The claims process is very simple and only consists of a few questions about the number of LCD flat screen TVs, monitors, and laptops that were purchased from 1999 to 2006.

Consumers and businesses are eligible for payments if they were residents of Missouri or one of the other settling states or the District of Columbia at the time of purchase. The other 23 states included are: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Missourians can file online on the Attorney General’s website at
