Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. – The Missouri Police Chiefs Association gave its first-ever “Leadership Award” to Attorney General Chris Koster today at the 30th Annual Missouri Law Enforcement Conference at the Lake of the Ozarks.
In presenting the award, Arnold Police Chief Robert Shockey, President of the Missouri Police Chiefs Association said, “The foundation of the Missouri Police Chiefs Association is leadership, service and professionalism. Attorney General Koster’s commitment to these principles is demonstrated not by just words, but by action.”
Koster said he was honored to receive the award. In remarks following the presentation, Koster noted that his office currently is prosecuting 60 homicides, 40 child sexual and physical abuse cases, and other crimes involving public corruption and methamphetamine distribution from around the state. He said these cases are all dependent on the work of law enforcement agencies investigating the crimes.
“Your officers are at the core of every single one of those cases,” Koster said. “Your investigations, your theories, the evidence you collect are all critical. I count on the experience and judgment of law enforcement officers across the state.”
