Attorney General's News Release

March 18, 2011

Washington County man sentenced to 15 years

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster said today that Judge Kenneth Pratte sentenced Larry Martin, 56, to serve 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of child molestation, three counts of statutory sodomy, one count of statutory rape, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation and prosecution by the Missouri Attorney General’s office.

Koster said Martin’s victim was a young girl under the age of 14. The endangering the welfare of a child charge involved Martin giving the girl marijuana.

“These are terrible crimes, and the victim will spend her lifetime dealing with the experience,” Koster said. “This sentence, though appropriate, cannot undo what has been done, but I am thankful that this predator will be behind bars for a very long time.”

The Attorney General’s Office was named Special Prosecutor in the case. Assistant Attorney General Susan Boresi represented the state.
