St. Francois County man pleads guilty to murder; gets maximum sentence

Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Chris Koster said today Jeffrey Thurman, 26, of Park Hills, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to murder in the first degree in St. Francois County. Circuit Judge Kenneth Pratte handed down the sentence following the guilty plea.

Koster said Thurman and his co-defendant, David Bradley, murdered Ricky Haynes, 56, by beating and strangling him on January 11, 2007. The body of the victim was later found in a remote area of St. Francois County.

The Attorney General’s office assisted the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s office in prosecuting the case.
