Jefferson City, Mo. - Attorney General Chris Koster asked for and received today a temporary restraining order in a lawsuit in Camden County against Grandview Amenities, Inc. and its president, Michael Petrovich.
Koster said Petrovich developed a condominium project known as Grandview Condominiums in Lake Ozark. His wastewater treatment facility serving the condos discharges into the Lake of the Ozarks. Inspections by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) showed the wastewater treatment system was not operating properly due to a sludge buildup. Sewer sludge, if discharged into the lake, poses a serious environmental threat.
"The defendants were given the opportunity to correct violations of Missouri's clean water laws by removing the sludge from the system," Koster said. "The DNR inspector observed significant amounts of sludge deposits and other visible solids throughout the system, and this pollution must stop."
