Johnson County, Mo. - Attorney General Chris Koster said today that Johnson County Circuit Court Judge Jacqueline Cook has entered a judgment against a Knob Noster developer for violations of Missouri's Clean Water Act.
Koster said Alpert Rampone, developer of Timber Ridge Subdivision in Knob Noster, violated the law by installing and operating two sewage lagoons in the subdivision without getting the necessary permits to do so.
"Missouri understands our obligation to ensure our state's environmental integrity and has passed laws to ensure that our rivers and streams remain unpolluted," Koster said. "This office will continue to enforce those laws aggressively."
Koster said the court ordered Rampone to close down the two old wastewater lagoons and upgrade or replace the sewer system. Rampone was also ordered to pay a $1,000 penalty.
