Adair County man sentenced in felony domestic assault conviction

Jefferson City, Mo. -- Attorney General Chris Koster said today Judge James Spencer has sentenced Jimmie D. Head of Brashear, Missouri, to eight years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for 2nd degree felony domestic assault.

Koster said an Adair County jury found Head guilty after hearing testimony that he had beaten his wife in the face and body and had threatened to kill her. This was Head's sixth felony conviction, and he was sentenced as a persistent offender.

"Domestic violence victims are among our state's most vulnerable," Koster said, "and it's disgraceful that there are those who would harm the very people they should protect and cherish. I believe Judge Spencer's sentence in this case is appropriate and serves the cause of justice."
