Jefferson City, Mo. - Attorney General Chris Koster said today that a jury has found a Buffalo, Missouri, man guilty of second degree murder in a case filed and prosecuted by the Attorney General's office.
Koster said Brad Jennings was found guilty of murder in the second degree and armed criminal action for the shooting death of his wife, Lisa Jennings, on December 25, 2006.
"My deepest sympathy goes out to the friends and family of Lisa Jennings," Koster said. "While this tragedy cannot be undone, I am pleased that the Attorney General's office was able to help ensure that justice will be served."
Koster said Jennings claimed the shooting was a suicide. But diligent investigative work by the Highway Patrol and the Attorney General's office led to the murder charge against Jennings.
Koster said the jury recommended Jennings be sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder charge and five years for the armed criminal action charge. Jennings is scheduled to be sentenced November 10.
