Jefferson City, Mo. - The Missouri Supreme Court yesterday upheld the 2007 conviction and first-degree murder sentence of Kenneth Baumruk. Baumruk was condemned to death after being found guilty of the brutal courthouse killing of his wife and the wounding of four others in 1992.
Attorney General Chris Koster issued the following statement subsequent to the announcement of the decision: "Nearly 17 years after Baumruk's senseless and deadly rampage, the Missouri Supreme Court today has correctly determined that Kenneth Baumruk's conviction for first degree murder was both warranted and appropriate."
"Justice is not always swift, but we are determined in our efforts to make sure that it is certain."
