Attorney General's News Release

August 31, 2006

Online form makes it easier than ever for Missourians to order free publications from Attorney General's Office

Jefferson City, Mo. — Missourians who want copies of 38 free publications from the office of Attorney General Jay Nixon can now submit orders for those publications online. The publications cover a wide range of topics, from Missouri's Sunshine Law to crime victims' rights to consumer fraud prevention to planning for the end of life. Two of the publications, Know Your Rights and the Landlord-Tenant Law, also are available in Spanish.

The Attorney General's Web site is www.ago.mo.gov, and visitors to that site can now go to the “Consumer Publications” link to access the online order form.

“This is another way to make helpful information even quicker for Missourians to obtain,” Nixon said. “It also streamlines the process for my staff to assist consumers, as we continue to make our office more effective and efficient.”

Nixon said consumers also may download individual copies of the publications off the Web site. Missourians without Internet access may order copies of publications by calling the Consumer Protection Hotline toll-free at 1-800-392-8222.

Inquiries from consumers should be directed to consumer@ago.mo.gov or 1-800-392-8222 (from within Missouri) or 573-751-3321 (outside Missouri).

All media inquiries should be directed to the Press Secretary.
