Springfield man sued by Nixon for Internet auction fraud ordered to pay $3,754 to consumers, state of Missouri

Jefferson City, Mo. — A Springfield man sued by Attorney General Jay Nixon in April was ordered today to pay $754 in restitution to consumers and $3,000 to the state of Missouri. The order signed by Greene County Circuit Judge Henry W. Westbrooke Jr. also prohibits John Bradford Jensen from selling goods or services over the Internet.

Nixon sued Jensen after investigating complaints from consumers across the country who bid on and paid for sports cards Jensen was advertising on the Internet but never received the cards. The restitution will be sent to 16 consumers who paid for the cards but did not receive them.

Jensen also was ordered not to make misrepresentations in the advertising and sale of merchandise. He faces penalties of up to $5,000 per violation if he does not comply with the court order.

Inquiries from consumers should be directed to consumer@ago.mo.gov or 1-800-392-8222 (from within Missouri) or 573-751-3321 (outside Missouri).

All media inquiries should be directed to Press Secretary John Fougere.
