Nixon to hold hearings on new Don't Call telemarketing law in Kansas City, St. Joseph and St. Louis

Jefferson City, Mo. — Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon will hold hearings this month around the state regarding a new state law that can help Missourians prevent unwanted telemarketing calls. The hearings will provide citizens an opportunity to learn more about the state Don't Call list, which will begin operation next year and be managed by Nixon's office.

The Attorney General's Office will introduce automated registration for the Don't Call list after the first of the year and will open registration statewide at that time.There will no cost for consumers to be on the list.

  • Kansas City - The hearing will take place Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Don Bosco Center, 580 Campbell from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • St. Joseph - The hearing will take place Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Center, 100 S. 10th Street, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • St. Louis - The hearing will take place Thursday, Oct. 12 at the Wainwright State Office Building, 111 N. 7th Street, first floor conference room, beginning at 10:15 a.m.
