Statement by Attorney General Jay Nixon on today's court ruling to remove Tom Russell as Miller Co. sheriff

Corruption in law enforcement cannot and will not be tolerated. I am proud of the role our office has played in prosecuting this case and, in particular, the outstanding work of career prosecutor Ted Bruce. The checks and balances of democracy have once again been put into play and have worked to the benefit of the public. The citizens of Miller County now have an opportunity to return order and professionalism to the Sheriff's office. I wish them well in that regard.
