Jefferson City, Mo.. — The Missouri Supreme Court today set a June 30 execution date for Robert A. Walls (DOB - 8/3/65), sentenced to die for the 1985 murder of an 88-year-old man who lived in the St. Louis suburb of Maplewood.
Walls, a resident of a halfway house at the time of the murder, and two accomplices broke into the house of Fred C. HarMo.n on Dec. 15, 1985. HarMo.n was bound, severely beaten, then stuffed into a large freezer while still alive. His body was found three days later by Maplewood police. Walls was arrested in Santa Mo.nica, Calif., on Dec. 20 on a burglary charge.
A St. Louis County jury found Walls guilty of first degree murder, first degree robbery and first degree burglary and recommended the death sentence.
