St. Louis, Mo. — Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon's office will participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Family Fair Sunday, Jan. 17, at the Martin Luther King Community Center in St. Louis.
Nixon's office will have free informational pamphlets available to the public on topics such as domestic violence, landlord-tenant rights and consumer issues.
Fair events are scheduled from 1-6 p.m. and will include activities for individuals of all ages such as workshops, service projects and entertainment.
"This will be an opportunity for the St. Louis community to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in an atmosphere that promotes the power of civic involvement, literacy, education and non-violence," Nixon said.
The fair, sponsored by the Corporation for National Service programs in the St. Louis area, is coordinated by AmeriCorps, Learn and Serve, and several other community groups. The Martin Luther King Community Center is located at 1437 Laurel.
