Taum Sauk Reservoir Collapse

More than 1 billion gallons of water were released after the Taum Sauk reservoir collapsed in December 2005, carving a path down Proffit Mountain carrying away trees and topsoil and exposed the bedrock. Learn more about the disaster, lawsuit and settlement here.
