Jefferson City, Mo. - The Attorney General’s Office is joining with local and state agencies to help those affected by the devastating flooding throughout Missouri. Investigators from the Attorney General’s office will provide resource materials with tips on selecting reputable contractors, avoiding price gouging, protecting personal information from identity fraud, and other scams seen after natural disasters.

“Missouri communities have been upended by these natural disasters, and we want to be as helpful as possible as they move to rebuild houses, clean up neighborhoods, and return to normalcy,” said Attorney General Schmitt. “Unfortunately, scammers look to take advantage of citizens more frequently after natural disasters. Stop by any of the MARC locations listed below to speak with representatives from the Attorney General’s Office on how to best select a reputable contractor, how to avoid falling victim to identity theft, how to report price gouging and fraud, and more.”
