Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Josh Hawley released the following statement on the federal district court’s order granting a preliminary injunction:

"The district court’s order prevents the state from enforcing two kinds of health and safety regulations: those that require abortion facilities to meet basic surgical center standards, and those that require doctors performing abortions to be able to admit patients to a nearby hospital in the event of a complication," said Hawley. "The order leaves in place other state safety regulations regarding abortion facilities, as well as the state’s licensing requirements. I am disappointed the court has struck down important safety measures that protect the health and well-being of those women who choose to undergo an abortion. I will appeal the court’s decision and order."
