Problems receiving HTML e-mails

AOL

HTML is not supported for AOL 5.0 or earlier. To view HTML e-mail you will need to upgrade or switch to another e-mail account such as Yahoo! Mail, MSN Hotmail or GMail.

Images may not display by default. To correct this, click on the "Show images & enable links" button.

If you are receiving an error message saying "Sending mail attachments or embedded files with this account is not permitted," then you will need to change the settings on your mail controls. Please follow the steps prescribed below:

  1. On the AOL Toolbar, click MAIL, then click BLOCK UNWANTED MAIL. You can also go to AOL Keyword: Mail and Spam Controls.
  2. In the Select the Screen Name drop-down menu, select the Screen Name whose Mail Controls you wish to adjust. For screen names in a General Access category, you can only adjust the Mail Controls for that screen name.
  3. Next to Content Filter, click EDIT.
  4. Uncheck 'Block messages containing pictures or files', then click SAVE.
  5. Click SAVE to close the Mail and Spam Controls window.
