Disparity Index

The "Disparity Index" measures the likelihood drivers of a given race or ethnic group are stopped based on their proportion of the residential population age 16 and over. Values greater than 1 indicate over-representation and values less that 1 indicate under-representation in traffic stops. The values in the tables and graphs below represent the disparity index. #Error indicates a zero denominator. Gaps in the graph represent calculations with a 0 denominator. Use the Report Selection menu above to view other reports, select other agencies in Cole County, and/or choose which races to display in the graphs. Information provided on this site reflects data as reported by each law enforcement agency. Where the numbers reported appeared incomplete or inaccurate, the Attorney General’s Office made every effort to verify the data with the reporting agency in order to obtain correct figures.
