Missouri's Lemon Law does not apply to used cars. In most cases, these vehicles are sold “as is.” For that reason, it's critical to look into the background of the car you're considering. Do this with the help of a mechanic and a title search. For more information, see the Attorney General's All About Autos publication.

Also, before finalizing the sale, make sure you're in possession of the vehicle's title.
