Travel scams

A timeshare is a property, usually in a resort area, that a consumer may buy for a certain length of time each year. Missouri law allows five days to cancel a timeshare contract.

Some travel companies offer a free hotel night or other bonus if you attend a 90-minute presentation about their timeshare. These presentations can turn into high-pressure sales pitches that may far exceed the 90 minutes. You are under no obligation to buy these products during or after the presentation, and you are free to leave after the agreed-upon time is up.
