"Name That Scam" quiz

You may receive unsolicited mail offering to provide you with a copy of your certified real estate property deed for $50 to $100.

If you own real estate, your deed is essentially your proof of ownership, so it is important to have a copy, as with other important documents in your life.

The only place to get this document, however, is your county Recorder of Deeds office. It normally costs about $1 per page. Most simple home deeds are one to two pages, so this should only cost a few dollars.
