Junk mail

While all consumers receive it, many don't realize they can opt out of direct mail solicitations. This can be done online at www.dmaconsumers.org or by U.S. Mail at:

DMA Mail Preference Service
PO Box 643
Carmel NY 10512

This is a voluntary service run by the Direct Marketing Association. While not enforceable by law, most consumers report a significant reduction in their unsolicited mail.

Consumers can also opt out of pre-approved credit card offers.
