Beware of companies offering to repair bad credit. Consumers have a right to dispute inaccuracies on their credit reports at no charge. However, if the negative information is accurate, no credit-repair company can change it, unless they instruct you to lie or provide false information. Some do.

The only true way to repair bad credit is to replace it with good credit by establishing, starting today, a record of paying bills on time.
