Advance directive

Missouri law allows individuals to put their wishes for medical care in writing, in the event they are unable to speak for themselves.

Advance directive is an umbrella term that refers to any such document that involves health care instructions. Included are the durable power of attorney, health care choices directive and the living will. All of these documents can be found in the Attorney General's Life Choices publication.
