Stop the robo calls - from some candidates
We have blogged here many times that AG Nixon wants to see automated political calls outlawed for people on the Missouri No Call list. So far the state legislature has not made that change. These are also known as robo calls.
But there's a national group encouraging politicians to take a no robo call pledge. Not going so well so far - only four candidates nationwide have signed up.

Thanks for the mention. I'd respectfully disagree that our organization's goal of reducing robo calls is "not going well". After launching 10.24.2007 we have received unprecedented media attention, over 50,000 members, and national political candidates joining us. Particularly interesting is the fact that a robo calling company (the firms that actually make the calls) joined us last week and agreed to "scrub" every candidate's voter lists against the National Political Do Not Contact (NPDNC) voter list. In MO, Lt. Gov candidate, Mike Carter, has joined us as well. Regards, Shaun Dakin CEO and Founder StopPoliticalCalls.org

I agree robo calls should end. Bad enough what ever business you call you don't talk to a person. When I answer my phone at home, I like to hear a "live" person on the other end. Also I work nights and all these political robo calls are a real pain. I too am on the no call registry for a reason.

My problem isn't an actual candidate for office, but one of those 501(c)(6) groups. They call us every day almost...yesterday it was 3 times! We have called their number that they leave at the end to say take us off your list to no avail. any advice?
