Unsolicited Credit Cards
Recently we have been contacted with numerous complaints from consumers stating they have received unsolicited credit cards in the mail. The letter informs the recipient that they simply need to call to to activate the card. But upon further inspection, consumers realize that if they are not interested in keeping the card, they must also call to cancel the account.
Generally in these situations, consumers have an old inactive account with the company sending the card. But how would you know that this truly your card and not an attempt at identify theft? These recent complaints serve as good reminders, as consumers need to check their credit report on a routine basis.
As we've mentioned before, you are entitled to one free credit report per year, per credit bureau -- and you can order your report online. By carefully reviewing your credit report, you would be able to determine if the card represents:
- A forgotten account that may need to be closed
- A new account that may have been fraudulently opened
If you believe the account was opened fraudulently, you can file an identity theft complaint and we will work to rectify the situation. Either way, it's a good idea to determine why you received the card -- so don't just throw it away.

The problem has been ongoing for appoximatley 3 or 4 months. The first call I received from "Card Services"... a pre recorded messege lead me to beleive it was "MY" credit card company, wanting to warn me that my credit card rates were going up,and if I needed keep my rates downI needed to press "9".
Their representive answered the phone and started asking personal information, credit card # included,
at that point, I said, If you are my credit card company, you should know that information and Im not giving that to you....they IMMEDIATLEY terminated the phone call. (Which, further made me suspect ill practices) I called my banking institution, and they suggested I also call the County Sherriff, I did.
about once a week, or every other week(I might miss some of the calls) I get a call from "Card Services"
I go through the press "9" to keep your credit rate from raising routine, and then ask them for information, sometimes they immediatley hang up, sometimes they give me their FIRST name....but after all of these months, for the first time today, the
representive, (When I asked the address) said "Arapahoe" then again I had to ask which state is that, and she said Arkansas. she gave me this phone number also, 1-800 847-2911 (and I asked her not to call again)
Company Name Card Services
Reps Name Zoe /Zoey (
phone # 1-800-847-2911
Location Arapahoe Arkansas
I suspected credit card scam or identity theft at first, but couldnt see how that could be doing this
for months useing the same name and scam ..??

Official banks' sites are not the best place to shop for credit cards. It is much better to check out site that have offers from all major banks and credit card companies. They give you all the necessary information and give you the opportunity to compare.
