Going out of business sales must be for real
Little known fact: all going out of business sales in Missouri have to register with the Attorney General's Office. They have 60 days to have the sale, and they have to submit all their inventory with us and agree not to restock after the sale. The idea is, stores can't use a "GOOB" sale as a gimmick to make some quick money. They have to actually be going out of business.
AG Nixon sued an unregistered GOOB sale in Springfield today. It's been going on for 8 months.

I think that the fact that all sales are final in these sales should not be applicable to defective items.I just purchased a radio from The Discovery Channel Store at such a sale, brought it home- does not work. Was told that I could exchange at online stor, upon calling them they said no- because it was a 50% markdown that all they can do is give a gift card for the purchase amount- there is nothing else at that store that I want that is affordable.
It should not be legal to just hang a sign that says all sales final and be able to get away with selling defective items.
If I put an add in the paper to sell something and add the words final sale I surely could not sell something defective.
